2015 Central Jersey Science Fair

This year we conducted our 4th annual Central Jersey Science Fair and once again, we had immense participation! Starting as a district science fair, our fair has grown every year and has been a huge success! We had approximately 40 participants with over a 100 visitors! Students mainly came from Hillsborough, Bridgewater, and Bound-brook to show off their scientific knowledge. We had three age groups with 3 awards in each. 

Here are the awards for all of the age groups:
Grades 5-6
Most creative: Center of Gravity - Kayla Parlato
Most applicable: How well do 2 different chemicals absorb water - Nidhi Shah, Diya Jaisankar, Diya Patel
Most research: Fingerprints: Inherited or Random- Anvi Jain and Nikita Agarwal

Grades 7-8
Most creative: Bomb Calorimetry - Danyaal Tayyabkhan
Most applicable: Can Your Password be Hacked? - Smay Shah, Shridhar Parthasarathy
Most research: Extracting DNA from strawberries - Nikhil Mhatre
Most research: The Effects of Aspirin, Caffeine, and Sugar Water on Plant Growth - Asha Chandaka, Shreya Kelshikar, Zaib Syed 
Most research: Do Distractions Affect Driving Video Game Scores?  - Ayan Desai
Best Overall: Spoonful of sugar makes the light bend down! - Ananya Gandhi

Grades 9-12
Most applicable: 3D Printing - Nicholas Bellamy
Most research:  Seeing and Detecting Radioactivity - Dimitri Duma
