Team 75 was successful in bringing the FIRST Lego League (FLL) to the Hillsborough School District in 2006 with three teams in the Intermediate and Middle Schools. By 2010 the fever caught on and the number of teams grew to 13, encompessing both school and neighborhood teams. Team 75 students have mentored many of these teams through the years by providing guidance in programming, design and gracious professionalism.

Team 75 began hosting an FLL State qualifying tournament in 2007. BoroBlast stated with 12 teams from New Jersey competing for spots in the New Jersey State FLL tournament. Due to the success of the first event, Team 75 was asked to host 24 teams. BoroBlast is now the New Jersey model for how to run a successful FLL tournament. At BoroBlast, team students are referee's, field reseters, pit coordinators, team ambassadors, and competition managers. They additionally demonstrate their past FRC robots and ran workshops, providing FLL teams with a taste of things to come. In 2012, BoroBlast included demonstrations by local FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams, showcasing their robot. The Hillsborough FLL teams are invited to our warehouse during the FRC build season to see how the program operates and gives them the opportunity to drive prior robots.
