STEMascend

Welcome to STEMascend

The RoboRaiders (FRC 75), created STEMascend, a global outreach program designed to reach and involve underprivileged students in science and technology. We cater to individual circumstances and needs, thus supporting the whole student.

When considering how to implement this approach, we consulted Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. The truth is, if a program is aimed towards underprivileged students, the program needs to address the full needs of the student: promoting safety, food security, a sense of community, and care. Only when all of this is achieved will students successfully absorb our STEAM lessons and get inspired for the future.

We search for and partner with local shelters for underprivileged children within our community. We recognize the need to help these children meet their basic needs, which we address through food and clothing drives across our community. We also give out hand-knitted or crocheted stuffed animals, both as a gesture of warmth and to foster a sense of community—because who doesn’t enjoy a gift

Our entire process, from finding community centers to developing curriculums and managing the program, is detailed in our STEMascend manual. We would like to share our manual globally with teams to transform this initiative from a local endeavor to a worldwide phenomenon. With a global framework, we can inspire and empower countless children burdened by challenging circumstances, helping them reach their full potential through the power of STEAM.

We encourage you to reach out to schedule a call with us today! We would love to discuss how we can work together to change lives!
